The ACC 618DX uses a fully supported table design to maintain consistent table support throughout longitudinal travel. Double-V table ways provide controlled linear movement for repeatable surface grinding, while the saddle-type configuration keeps the machine compact for toolroom and production environments. Okamoto positions the ACC 618DX as the automatic-control model within its current Saddle Series.
This automatic surface grinder features shift-plunge cycles to reduce manual intervention during repetitive grinding operations. The machine also includes automatic lubrication and a frequency inverter for the spindle motor. These functions support consistent process control across surface grinding applications with changing stock-removal and finish requirements.
An overhead dresser and automatic dressing cycle allow the ACC 618DX to condition the grinding wheel during the machining process. This helps maintain wheel geometry as grinding progresses. Optional equipment can further expand the machine with coolant systems, automatic wheel balancing, magnetic chucks, chuck datum capability, and additional process-control equipment.
