Advanced 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center for Large Components

The Mazak Variaxis i-800 NEO is designed for large part vertical 5-axis machining. For example, its spacious work envelope supports components up to 1,000 mm in diameter and 500 mm in height. In addition, the high-rigidity gantry construction maintains stability during demanding, high-speed operations. It also features a 50-taper spindle to deliver the torque needed for heavy-duty cutting, while full simultaneous 5-axis functionality enables precise multi-surface machining in a single setup.

 

Intelligent Machining with SmoothAi CNC Control

Equipped with SmoothAi CNC control, the Variaxis i-800 NEO optimizes tool paths, thermal management, and cycle efficiency. For example, the Smooth Machining Configuration (SMC) and Ai Thermal Shield actively compensate for thermal displacement in real time. This intelligent control system simplifies programming, enhances repeatability, and ensures consistent precision over long production runs.
